Vicky White is entering her 13th season as an assistant coach of the SHU softball team. White, who primarily works as the pitching coach, also helps with recruiting and administrative duties. White was a four-year starter on the mound for the Pioneers from 1994-97. She accumulated a 49-32 record in her playing career at Sacred Heart.
As a sophomore in 1995, White enjoyed her best season finishing 20-8 with a 1.83 ERA and helped lead the Pioneers to the NECC Championship and a berth in NCAA Tournament. That year, she was named First Team All-NECC and earned a spot on the All-Northeast Second Team.
White is a second grade teacher at Waltersville Elementary School in Bridgeport. White was a recipient of the 2006 Beard Excellence in Teaching Award. The awards are given annually to teachers who have demonstrated extraordinary educational abilities in the Bridgeport Public Schools.
