Women’s Bowling, Women’s Crew, Field Hockey, Men’s Golf, Women’s Ice Hockey, Women’s Soccer, Softball and Women’s Tennis all had a perfect score.

Registration Now Open for Northeast Softball College 1-Day Clinic
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – This year’s Northeast Softball College 1-Day Clinic will be hosted by Fairfield University on Friday, November 10, 2017. Also in attendance, the clinic, will feature Sacred Heart co-head coaches Elizabeth Luckie and Pam London, along with other Division I coaches hailing from Quinnipiac University and Iona College.

Jamie Carlson Named To The NFCA All-Regional Third Team
Jamie Carlson was named to the NFCA All-Regional Third Team. Carlson, who led the Pioneers to a post season run for the first time since 2011, finished the year with a 12-13 record on the mound. She led the NEC in strikeouts this season with 160. She finishes her final season with the Pioneers with 592 career strikeouts, 3rd in Sacred Heart career record book. Jamie posted her first career no-hitter this season, against Hartford on May 2nd. The Corona, California native was voted as the NEC Pitcher of the Week on three separate occasions, and was named All-NEC Second Team.

Pioneers Season Comes To a Close, As SHU Falls To Wagner 6-4
The Pioneers playoffs were cut short, as SHU would fall to the Wagner Seahawks for the second time, 6-4. The Pioneers were led by Andrea Sidor who went 3-3 at the dish. Kristen McCann would pitch a gem, only allowing three hits, but a couple of Pioneer errors would prove to be crucial. The Pioneers ended the NEC tournament 1-2, with a season record of 23-28.

The Pioneers kept their Championships hope alive, picking up a 4-2 win over Robert Morris. The Pioneers capitalized on a big third inning, picking up 3 runs. SHU was led by Victoria D’Addario who went 1-2 at the plate, and snagged a walk. SHU takes on Wagner next, at 4pm in a must win scenario to play in the NEC Championship game tomorrow.

SHU Softball Drops Opening Round Of NEC Tournament To Wagner 6-3
The Sacred Heart Pioneers would drop the opening round of the NEC tournament 6-3 to the Wagner Seahawks. The Pioneers were led by Victoria D’Addario who went 3 for 4 at the plate. Sacred Heart looks to bounce back tomorrow as they take on Robert Morris in a must win game, at 1:00pm.

Pitching Duo Earn NEC Honors
The Sacred Heart Softball team had two student athletes honored with the 2017 All-NEC awards. (Pitcher/Utility) Kristen McCann was selected to the All-NEC Second team for pitching, as well as her play in the outfield. McCann also received the NEC’s Most Improved Player award. (Pitcher) Jamie Carlson rounded out the list being selected to the All-NEC Second team for pitching. The Pioneers are on the road for their first NEC Tournament appearance since 2011, as the #2 seed. SHU will take on Wagner in Loretto PA. on Thursday, at 3:00pm.

Jamie Carlson Earns Third NEC Pitcher of the Week Honor
Jamie Carlson closed out the regular season earning her third NEC Pitcher of the Week honor. Carlson picked up a pair of shutout victories over the week, including her first career no hitter against Hartford. Carlson ends the regular season with nine shutout victories, and leads the league with 157 strikeouts this season. Carlson and the Pioneers hit the road for Loretto PA. this week for the NEC Softball Championships. The Pioneers enter the tournament as the #2 seed, and take on #3 seeded Wagner, Thursday at 3:00pm.

Pioneers Close Regular Season Sweeping FDU
The Sacred Heart Pioneers closed out regular season play in dominant fashion as they went on to sweep Fairleigh Dickinson 3-0, and 3-0. The Pioneers closed out the regular season play with a record of 22-26, and a 10-6 conference record. SHU heads to the Northeast Conference championship May 11th for the first time since 2011, with hopes to bring home another NEC Championship.

Regular Season Finale Moved To Pioneer Park
Fairfield Conn.- The Sacred Heart Pioneers (20-26 NEC 8-6) will move their final regular season game, to Pioneer Park, as they take on Fairleigh Dickinson (5-35 NEC 1-13) in a double header, scheduled for 1pm. The Pioneers have recently secured their spot in the 2017 Northeast Conference Championship for the first time since 2011 after sweeping Robert Morris.

Jamie Carlson Throws No Hitter, As SHU Sweeps Hartford 10-0 and 5-2
The Sacred Heart softball team travelled down to Hartford, to play their last non-conference contest, in a double header with the Hawks of Hartford. The Pioneers brought their bats to the game, as they put up 10 runs in game one, off of 13 hits. SHU rolled into game two, as they defeated Hartford 5-2. The Pioneers look to wrap up NEC regular season play as they take on Fairleigh Dickinson this weekend.

Pioneers Punch Their Ticket To 2017 NEC Tournament Wth Sweep Over Robert Morris
The Pioneers would end the Pennsylvania road trip in style, as they swept the Colonials of Robert Morris in a double header. The Pioneers snuck past Robert Morris in game one, winning 1-0, and catch fire in game two, posting a new season high, 17 hits and a 9-2 win. The Pioneers take on the Hartford Hawks in a double header this Tuesday, before their final double header of NEC play against Fairleigh Dickinson on May 6th.

Pioneers Drop Two, To Undefeated Saint Francis U
The Pioneers took on undefeated Saint Francis U, as they looked to dethrone the NEC powerhouse. SHU would go on to drop both games, but give the Red Flash a scare in game two, putting the first run on the board. The Pioneers take on Robert Morris tomorrow in a double header at 12pm, and 2pm.

Pioneers Drop Two Against Siena
The Sacred Heart softball team would head to Loudonville, N.Y. to take on the Saint of Siena in a non-conference double header. SHU would drop both games, but show signs of light at the plate in game one, out hitting the Saints 7-6. The Pioneers prep for the tough Pennsylvania trip this weekend, as they take on Saint Francis U, and Robert Morris.

Pioneers Split With Mount St. Mary's on Senior Day
The Pioneers honored their seniors in their final game at Pioneer Park prior to SHU splitting a pair of games with Mount St. Mary’s. Andrea Sidor stole the show in game two, hitting a two run homerun to give SHU a 5-0 win. Sacred Heart hits the road to take on Siena on Thursday the 27th. The Pioneers start NEC play back up as they take on Saint Francis U, and Robert Morris this weekend.

Hot Pioneer Bats, Lead To A Sweep Of LIU Brooklyn
The Sacred Heart softball team held their annual Breast Cancer game, and went on to sweep the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn. The Pioneer bats were hot in both games, as SHU won game one 6-2, and game two 4-1. Game one saw three SHU homeruns, as the Pioneers look to keep rolling into senior night tomorrow at 12:00pm, as they take on Mount St. Mary’s in a double header.

The Sacred Heart Softball team travelled to Fairfield University, to take on the Red Stags. The Pioneers bats were hot, as they picked up 14 hits. Fallon Bevino led the way going three for five at the plate, adding a homerun. The Pioneers are back at home as they host LIU Brooklyn in a double header on Saturday.

Lindsey Spitz Cracks Homerun To Help SHU Split With Yale
The Sacred Heart softball team split a pair of games with the Yale Bulldogs. The Pioneers brought game one to the brink, but would fall in the 8th inning, 3-2. The Pioneers would regroup in game two, to roll past the Bulldogs 7-3 in 5 innings due to dark weather. SHU was led by Hailey Desrosiers, who would go 3 for 7 at the dish, bringing in three RBI’s. The Pioneers continue on the road, as they take on crosstown rivals, Fairfield tomorrow at 3:30pm.

SHU Softball Split With Wagner
The Pioneers took on the Wagner Seahawks for a NEC double-header, as they would pick up an opening game win 4-2, and fall in the second 1-0. Jamie Carlson pitched a complete game in the first, as she also shinned at the plate, picking up a hit, and an RBI. The Pioneers have a pair of road games, as they take on Yale, and Fairfield, before coming back to Pioneers Park on Saturday to take one LIU Brooklyn.

The Sacred Heart softball team split a double header with the Bryant Bulldogs, as Kristen McCann went the distance in game two, to pick up a 2-1 win. The Pioneers were led by Lauren Delgadillo, who went 3-7 at the plate. SHU gets right back to Northeast Conference play, as they head home to take on the Seahawks of Wagner in a double header tomorrow at 1:00pm.

The Sacred Heart Softball team releases the dates for the 2017 summer camp. The Revolution Softball camp will be held July 23rd-27th at Sacred Heart University, on the brand new softball facilities. The camp highlights, an outstanding NCAA staff, individual instructions, low camper to coach ratio, and a brand new softball stadium.

Pioneers Drop Two Games In Double Header vs. Quinnipiac
The Sacred Heart Pioneers travelled to Hamden, Connecticut to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats in a double header. The Pioneers played a defensive battle with the Bobcats in the opening game, where they went on to fall 1-0 in extra innings. The Pioneers struggled at the plate for the pair of games as they fell in the final game 4-0. SHU picks up play this week as they take on the Bryant Bulldogs the 14th in an NEC doubleheader, and are back at Pioneer Park Saturday to take on NEC foe Wagner.

Jamie Carlson Named NEC Pitcher Of The Week
Jamie Carlson was a force on the mound this week, blanking the Iona Gaels, and opened up NEC play for the Pioneers with a 2-0 win against CCSU. Carlson currently leads the NEC in strikeouts with 95 as SHU sits 1-1 in the northeast conference. Carlson, the Corona, California native has recieved the NEC Pitcher of the week for the second time this season.

Pioneers Open Up NEC Play, Splitting With CCSU
The Sacred Heart softball team opened up NEC play, splitting with the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut. Jamie Carlson went the distance in the first game, blanking the Blue Devils in the 2-0 victory. The Pioneers would drop the second game 3-2 after a late Blue Devil rally. SHU hit the road for a couple of games as they take on Quinnipiac the 11th, and Bryant on the 14th.

Pioneers Blank Iona In 4-0 Win
The Sacred Heart softball team picked up a big win over the Gaels of Iona, coming from a big first inning. Stephanie Appleberg was the leading contributor after a triple in the first inning as she picked up three RBI’s. Jamie Carlson continued to display her dominance on the mound as she picked up her sixth win of the season. The Pioneers are back at home this Sunday, as they take on the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut at 12:00pm in a double header.

Fairfield, CT- The Sacred Heart softball team took on crosstown rival Fairfield in a 3:30 start game. The Pioneers fell to the Stags 2-1, in a seven inning thriller. Although the Pioneers out hit Fairfield 9-3. The Pioneers start conference play this Sunday as they take on Iona on the road.

The Pioneers dropped a pair of games to the Jaspers of Manhattan this Wednesday on Pioneer Park. The Pioneers were led by Lauren Delgadillo who posted two hits in the doubleheader. The Pioneers are back at home tomorrow as they take on crosstown rival Fairfield, at 3:30pm.

The Sacred Heart softball team took on the Black Bears on Maine in a double-header, as the Pioneers fell in both games. Hailey Desrosiers led SHU at the plate on the day going 3-6 combined in the two games. The Pioneers are back at home Wednesday the 29th, as they take on Manhattan in a double header.

Walk-Off Homerun, and A 3-1 Win, Give SHU a 2-0 Start At Pioneer Park
The Sacred Heart Softball team started their home slate of games finishing 2-0, as they took down the Sea Wolves of Stony Brook in a double header. The Pioneers won off a walk off two run home run, from Victoria D’Addario in the bottom of the seventh. After a three run inning in the second game the Pioneers held on to take the sweep, 3-1. SHU is back at home this Saturday, as they take on Maine in a double header, the first game scheduled to start at 11:00am.

Pioneers End West Coast Trip 2-3
The Sacred Heart softball team closed out their California trip at the Gaucho Classic in Santa Barbara, California. The Pioneers finished the tournament going 2-3, picking up wins over Northern Colorado, and San Diego. The Pioneers head to Towson Maryland for the Towson Tournament the 17th-19th as they look to pick up after a west coast weekend.

The Sacred Heart softball team hit the mid point of their California trip with a double header against Cal St. Northridge. The Pioneers went on to fall 8-0, and 3-2. The Pioneers are now 3-7 on the year and close out the west coast trip at the Gaucho Classic, taking on Northern Colorado, San Diego, and Santa Barbara.

Jamie Carlson Named NEC Pitcher Of The Week
Jamie Carlson is the first Pioneer in the 2017 season to recieve a weekly honor. The Pioneers were 3-1 on the weekend at the Buffalo Wild Wing Classic, as Carlson didnt let in a single run in her two appearences. The Pioneers defeated Toledo 3-0, Delaware State 8-0, and Howard 12-1. Sacred Heart heads to the West Coast for their second week of the season, and kick off play against St. Mary's March 3rd.

Pioneers Go 2-0 On The Day
The Pioneers went into their final day of the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic, and finished 2-0. The Pioneers picked up an 8-0 victory against Delaware St., and also beat Howard, 12-1. Sacred Heart was led by Kelyn Fillmore who went 3-4 against Howard. The Pioneers take on St. Mary’s next weekend for a double header.

Pioneers Pick Up Win Over Toledo 3-0, But Fall To Furman 7-4
The Sacred Heart Softball team kicked off their 2017 season in Greenville, S.C. as they played in the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic. The Pioneers finished the first day of the tournament 1-1, as they picked up at 3-0 win over Toledo, and fell to Furman 7-4. The Pioneers were led by Andrea Sidor, who would go 4-5 at the plate. The Pioneers take the diamond again tomorrow as they face Delaware State, and Howard.

Softball Selected to Finish 7th In NEC Preseason Poll
The Sacred Heart Softball team was selected to finish seventh in the NEC, in this years Preseason Coaches poll. The returning NEC champions, LIU Brooklyn was chosen as the early favorite receiving six votes, while Saint Francis U received one vote. Rounding out the top three, Robert Morris who played in the NEC championship last season was chosen to finish third.

Appelberg Grand Slam Not Enough in 6-5 Nine Inning Loss at BU
The Pioneers couldn’t get the offense going early on and fell behind four runs before a Stephanie Appelberg (Monroe, CT) grand slam tied the game in the sixth inning. Sacred Heart was able to grab a short-lived lead in the eighth on a Dani Warnken (Bayport, NY) RBI single, but BU was able to tie it. After being held scoreless in the ninth, the Terriers were able to get the walk-off win on a fielder’s choice.

Pioneers Close 2015 with 3-0 Win Over Mount, Split Doubleheader
Kacie Wentworth led the Pioneers to a 3-0 win in the season finale holding Mount St. Mary’s. The senior held Mount to just three hits while striking out five batters. Senior Justine Sibthorp went 2-for-4 in the doubleheader with a pair of doubles and scoring two runs. The win combined with the 3-1 loss in the first game finalizes the Sacred Heart softball team’s 2015 record at 14-30 overall and 5-11 against Northeast Conference opponents.

The Sacred Heart softball team split the final non-conference doubleheader of the season with Army West Point on Wednesday. After the Black Knights rallied in the bottom of the seventh to take game one 4-3, the Pioneers had a convincing 6-2 win in the second game to head into the final games of the season Saturday against Mount St. Mary’s 13-29.

The Pioneers staged a comeback in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Fairfield University Stags prevailed in the seventh topping the Sacred Heart softball team 6-4 at Pioneer Park Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore Kelyn Fillmore went 2-for-3 in the loss hitting in two runs as the Pioneers fall to 12-28 on the season.

Jamie Carlson held the Quinnipiac Bobcats scoreless on Tuesday allowing the Sacred Heart softball team to claim a 1-0 victory. The sophomore pitcher allowed just three hits while racking up 10 strikeouts as the Pioneers move to 12-24 on the season.

Softball to Host Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Doubleheader Wednesday
On Wednesday, April 22, the Sacred Heart softball team will host Manhattan in its annual Breast Cancer Awareness doubleheader benefitting the CT Challenge beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Pioneer Park. In the weeks leading up to the doubleheader, members of the team have collected pledges for donations based on the Pioneers’ total number of hits.

On Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. during their doubleheader against Bryant University, the Sacred Heart softball team will take the field in honor of their coach, Elizabeth (Bippy) Luckie, who is a breast cancer survivor. The team is raising money by collecting donations at the game for the CT Challenge Cancer Center. Sidor went 3-3 on the week while only giving up two earned runs after getting the start in all six games earning the honor of Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Week. She pitched 42 innings and struck out 39 batters, including two 10 strike performances against LaSalle and Grambling State. The highlight of her week came against Grambling State when she tossed a no-hitter over seven innings in the team’s 2-0 win.

Taylor Froelich (Garden Grove, CA) of the softball team was named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team this afternoon. The junior center fielder was the Pioneers most consistent batter all season compiling a .327 batting average and .399 on base percentage. She also slammed five homers, notched 15 RBI, and stole three bases hitting in the leadoff spot.

Adrian Fitzsimon (Sacramento, CA) hit a homerun in both ends of a double header but the SHU softball team fell in each game to the Quinnipiac Bobcats Sunday afternoon. In game two Carley Rudloff (Thousand Oaks, CA) hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh to tie the game at four. But Quinnipiac would rally for one run in the bottom of the inning for the walk off win, 5-4. The Pioneers allowed three unearned runs in dropping the opener 6-2.

The Pioneers got a complete game two-hitter from Nicole Sidor (North Vancouver, BC) and a RBI triple from Courtney Lee (Camarillo, CA) in a 1-0 victory in game two of a double header sweep over Bryant Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Park. Sacred Heart got a 4-2 win in the opener after back-to-back passed balls and an error with two outs in the fifth broke open a tie game.
