Pioneer Softball Tabbed Sixth in NEC Preseason Coaches Poll

SOMERSET, N.J.  (February 12, 2014)—The Sacred Heart softball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2014 Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon. Defending champion Central Connecticut State was picked to win the 2014 NEC Softball Championship by the slimmest of margins, receiving just one more first place vote (5) than LIU Brooklyn, who was slated second with four.

Co-Head Coaches Elizabeth Luckie and Pam London, both in their 26th season, will lead a squad of 16 returners and 11 newcomers when Sacred Heart opens its season February 28 against California at the UC Riverside Tournament at 11:30 a.m.
