FAIRFIELD, CT (December 23, 2005) - Sacred Heart freshman Janice Rodriguez (Clinton, CT) earned a spot on the 2005 Soccer Buzz Northeast Region All-Freshman team announced this week.

Leading the Pioneers to their Northeast Conference leading fifth-straight tournament apperance, Rodriguez helped anchor a stingy Sacred Heart defense that shutout three NEC opponents and permitted only nine goals over the course of the conference season. Rodriguez, who hails from Clinton, CT, was also chosen as the league's Rookie of the Year and was also named to the second team all-NEC.

Soccer Buzz Magazine (www.soccerbuzz.com), the exclusive women's collegiate soccer web publication, announced its tenth annual postseason awards on December 22 for the 2005 women's college season. In voting open to all Division I head coaches and Soccer Buzz staff, all 308 Division 1 programs were eligible for the awards that have been presented since 1996.
