FAIRFIELD, CT (September 29, 2003) - Senior Paula Pineda (Vigo, Spain) was named the Sacred Heart University Athlete of the Week for the week of September 22nd through September 28th.

The Vigo, Spain native got her offense untracked over the weekend, finding the back of the net twice to guide the Pioneers to a 2-1 win over St. Francis (PA). The Red Flash struck first and held a 1-0 lead heading into the half when Pineda got the Pioneers on the board. She netted her first goal of the day with just 15 seconds to play in the half and then put the Red Flash away in the 84th minute with the game-winner. Pineda came into the weekend with just one goal on the year. Sunday's scoring burst marked her first multi-goal game of the 2003 season after recording three multi-goal games last season. She is currently second on the team in points (6) and tied for first in goals (3).

Pineda and the rest of the Pioneers will host Mount St. Mary's in Northeast Conference play on Saturday, October 4th at 10 am.
