Jasmine Rodriguez Named to All-NEC First Team

Junior defender Jasmine Rodriguez (Clinton, CT) was named to the 2009 Northeast Conference first team as choosen by the league's coaches. Rodriguez started on the back line every game this season for the Pioneers. She is the only player on the first team not competing in the NEC tournament this weekend. Rodriguez finished the season with her only point of 2009 with an assist in SHU's 5-1 victory over Mount St. Mary's on senior day. [+]

Lindsay Elliott Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart Student Athlete of the Week

Lindsay Elliott (Orange, CT) of the women's soccer team has been named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/SHU student athlete of the week for October 26-November 1. The Pioneer midfielder netted three goals with her hat trick in Sacred Heart's final game of the season, a 5-1 victory over Mount St. Mary's. The goals were her first of the 2009 season. [+]

Elliott's Hat Trick Leads Pioneers to 5-1 Victory on Senior Day

The Sacred Heart women's soccer team finished off the 2009 season with a 5-1 triumph over Mount St. Mary's on senior day. Junior Lindsay Elliott (Orange, CT) led the SHU attack, netting a career high three goals. Senior Mary Dick (Massapeuqa, NY) converted on a penalty kick to notch her first goal of 2009. Fellow senior Ashley Testani (Monroe, CT) also got into the act contributing an assist in her final collegiate game. [+]

Women's Soccer Tripped Up By Monmouth, 2-0

Junior Mary Wilks scored twice in the second half for the Monmouth Hawks as they defeated the Sacred Heart women's soccer team 2-0 Friday night. The loss officially eliminated the Pioneers in the race for the final spot in the 2009 Northeast Conference tournament. Lia Fierro made four saves for the Hawks to keep the Pioneers off the scoreboard. Sacred Heart goaltender Meghan Reichelt (Selden, NY) made three saves in the loss. [+]
