Final Stats

FAIRFIELD, CT - The Sacred Heart University women's soccer team survived an early onslaught from visiting Bryant University to salvage a 0-0 tie Friday night. Despite being outshot 11-3 in the opening half, the Pioneers managed to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard.

Bryant, 1-6-2, poured it on right from the opening whistle but only three of the 11 first-half shots were on net and SHU keeper Meghan Reichelt (Selden, NY) made the saves to keep the game scoreless at the intermission.

Sacred Heart, 1-7-2, applied most of the pressure in the second half and outshot Bryant 7-3 but couldn't dent goalie Jessica Neals, who came on to play the second half for starter Jessica Clark. The Pioneers also outshot the Bulldogs 5-2 in the two overtime periods and had three excellent chances in the final two minutes but Clark made three of her seven saves to end the contest in a draw.

The Pioneers are now 1-0-2 in their last three games.
