Pioneers Lose 1-0 to Siena at Albany Tournament

ALBANY, NY (September 17, 2004) - The Sacred Heart women's soccer team dropped their fourth-straight game Friday afternoon, falling in the opening game of the Albany Governor's Tournament, 1-0, to Siena College. The Pioneers are now 1-5 on the year.

Siena freshman Kara Sefcik scored the game's lone goal at the 12:26 mark when she headed in a crossing pass from sophomore Kristen Turner as the Saints defeated Sacred Heart, 1-0. Senior goalkeeper Noel Cox made five saves for the Saints (2-4), while sophomore Ashley Mocarski stopped three shots for the Pioneers (1-5).

The Governor's Cup second round begins on Sunday with Columbia taking on Siena at 2 p.m. and UAlbany faces Sacred Heart in the final match of tournament at 4 p.m.
