Hartford, CT - The Sacred Heart women's soccer team finished their non-conference schedule with a 3-0 loss to the Hartford Hawks Thursday night at Alumni Stadium in West Hartford. The Pioneers start Northeast Conference play with a record of 3-7.
Senior forward Natasha Douglas put Hartford on the board first, knocking one in from inside the box in the 10th minute to give Hartford a 1-0 lead. Junior midfielder Chanel Johnson found Douglas to earn the assist.
About six minutes later, senior Amanda Hamilton put one in the net off a corner kick to give the Hawks a two goal lead. Chanel Johnson added her second assist, along with Stephanie Santos.
Hartford capped off their scoring in the 46th minute on an unassisted goal by sophomore midfielder Sidney Spremullo. Spremullo found the net from about 20 yards out.
Sacred Heart opens up Northeast Conference play on Friday October 4th when they travel to take on the Wagner Seahawks at 7:00 pm.
