SHU's Carissa Hauser Honored by

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (April 1, 2009) - Junior Carissa Hauser (East Northport, NY) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll announced Tuesday afternoon. Hauser tallied 17 points in leading the Pioneers to wins over Lafayette, Long Island and Bryant last week.

Hauser scored seven goals and added to her team leading assist totals by dishing out 10 assists on the week. In addition, Hauser totaled 14 draw control wins as well as picking up three ground balls. On Tuesday, Hauser scored a pair of goals, each one coming on SHU 5-0 runs in both halves. She also set up three different teammates in the win, assisting on goals by Mary Montesarchio, Amanda Williams and Alicia Fuchs, hers being what proved to be the game winner. Hauser also finished with three draw wins and a grounder as the Pioneers picked up a 12-9 win. In Friday's 14-10 win over Long Island, Hauser scored three times and dished out a career high four assists with six draw wins and two grounders to lead the Pioneers to their second NEC win. Hauser twice set up teammate Amanda Williams and scored two of her goals in the first half of the win. Her third marker opened the second half of play and proved to be the game winner. On Sunday, Hauser was at it again, scoring a pair of goals and dishing out three more assists with five draw wins as the Pioneers rolled to a 19-9 win over the Bulldogs. On the season, Hauser leads the team and is second in the NEC with 18 assists, a career-best mark. She has matched that with 18 goals and leads the team in draw wins with 29.
