Setting the Scene... The Pioneer women's ice hockey team returns home for the first time since December 5th, as they welcome Weselyan to the Wonderland of Ice Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. This game marks the start of a three game homestand this week for the Pioneers.
Last Time Out... Last weekend the Pioneers swept a pair of games from Hamilton, winning by scores of 3-0 and 2-1. Senior Stephanie Boulay stopped 70 of the 71 shots she faced in goal. Senior Michelle Panella had two goals and an assist on the weekend. In their last game Tuesday at Saint Anselm, the Pioneers lost 4-0.
SHU Leaders... Sophomore Gina Arnone leads the Pioneers offense for the season with 20 goals and 14 assists, for a total of 34 points. Those are team high stats in each category. Senior Michelle Panella is second with 17 goals and 11 assists for 28 points on the year. Junior Devon Gaslin leads the Pioneer defense core with 17 points, three goals and 14 assists.
Last Time vs Hamilton... Gina Arnone tallied one goal and two assists as the Pioneers women's hockey team held off Wesleyan, 4-2, last season at Wesleyan. Sarah Hickman also had a goal and an assist in the win.
Scouting the Cardinals... Wesleyan makes the short trip down I-95 sporting a 3-11-3 record on the year. The Cardinals are winless in their last six games, with four losses and two ties. Junior Jessica Fischer has scored a team leading six goals, and has four assists for 10 points. Sophomore Hannah Jackson has a team leading 11 points on the season,with four goals and seven assists. In goal, sophomore Rachel Stemerman has seen the bulk of the action, posting a 3.13 goals against average in 12 games.

Down the Road... This weekend the Pioneers host a two game set with Robert Morris University, Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday at 2:00 pm. SHU will celebrate Senior Day at their final home game on February 17th. The Pioneers close out their season with the ECAC Open Tournament February 24th and 25th in Colchester, VT.
