Fairfield, CT - Freshman Taryn Lapierre (Burrillville, RI) has been named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of January 7-13.

Lapierre had eight points in helping the Sacred Heart women's ice hockey team to four wins last week. The rookie scored five goals and added three assists in the victories. She tallied an assist in Tuesday's win over Southern Maine and then scored two goals, including the game-winner in Wednesday's win over the Huskies. She scored another goal in the Pioneers win over Cortland on Friday night. Lapierre's best game was Saturday afternoon when she tallied four points, two goals and two assists against Nichols College. She figured in on four of the seven goals, including scoring the game winner. Lapierre is now has seven goals and eight assists, 15 points, on the year.

The Pioneers (9-10-1) are back in action Friday night when they open a weekend series at Union.
