 Box Score

Fairfield, CT-Emily Henry scored twice for Holy Cross as the Pioneers fell 3-0 in Worcester, MA. The loss snaps a Pioneers three-game winning streak. Amanda Nagel (Greenwood, MN) tallied 41 saves and Sacred Heart only committed two penalties in the loss.

The first period was played without either team spending time in the penalty box. The frame ended in a scoreless tie as the Pioneers (4-6-0) were outshot 13-10. Holy Cross (6-0-1) opened the scoring 2:17 into the second stanza on a Nicola Garat marker. Henry scored her first goal of the contest midway through the second period with the assist going to Garat.

Holy Cross dominated the third period and never gave SHU quality scoring opportunities. Nagel turned away 18 shots in the final frame and only allowed one goal. Henry put the game away with five minutes to play extending the lead to 3-0. The Pioneers two penalties match their low for any single period in their previous weekend series with Hamline.

Sacred Heart returns to action as they welcome the Union Dutchwomen to the Wonderland of Ice for a weekend series. Game times are set for Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 4:00 in Bridgeport, CT.
