Final Stats

WORCESTER, MA (November 17) - The Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team edged the Holy Cross University Crusaders, 3-2, Wednesday night at the Hart Center.

Junior Kolt Bloxson (Fitchburg, Mass.) put the Crusaders on the board first at 11:36 into the first period. Freshmen Shauna Pires (Falmouth, Mass.) and Marie Hickey (Mendonta Heights, Minn.) helped on the goal. The Crusaders expanded their margin to two when freshman Samantha Murphy (Canton, Mass.) netted a power play goal at 15:25 in the first period with the help from Bloxson.

The Pioneers answered with a power play goal late in the first at 17:10 when Katelin McLaughlin (Hingham, Mass.) scored from just in front of the left side of the crease.

After a scoreless second period Sacred Heart's Michelle Panella (Marlboro, N.J.) scored a short-handed goal at 4:37 in the third to tie the game at two-all.

Junior Jessica Felt (Killingworth, Conn.) would score the game winner with 2:21 left in the game, she was assisted by Karley Schulte (Wellington, Fla.).

The Pioneers return to action on Friday, November 19 when they travel to take on Neumann at 7:30 PM.
