CLINTON, N.Y. - Hamilton College's Jess Goldberg scored three goals and Marissa Halligan registered her 100th career point to lead the Continentals to a 6-1 non-conference win against Sacred Heart University at Sage Rink on Feb. 12.
Halligan was credited with four assists and now has 103 points at Hamilton (8-11-2 overall). Halligan, who played her final regular season home game, scored two goals and assisted on five others in the weekend series against the Pioneers (8-13-1). She is the fifth women's hockey player to reach the 100-point milestone at Hamilton and is in fourth place on the all-time points list. Zoe Baldwin, who scored her team-leading 22nd goal, recorded her 100th career point in Friday night's 4-3 overtime loss to Sacred Heart and has 102 points.
Goldberg entered the game with just one goal, but scored twice in the first period as the Continentals grabbed a 3-0 lead, and clinched the hat trick on the power play with 4:15 left in the third. Tierney Boisvert '07 scored her sixth goal of the season late in the second period and Kerry Leonard made the score 5-0 with her fourth goal early in the third. Lindsay Bartz chipped in two assists and Caitlin Connelly '07 made 20 saves.
Shannon Murphy scored her fifth goal on an assist from Michelle Panella. Panella leads the Pioneers with 11 assists and 30 points. Stephanie
Boulay and Sarah Perry combined to stop 35 shots. Hamilton enjoyed
a 41-21 advantage in shots.
