Final Stats

MILFORD, CT (February 5) - The Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team were downed by the Union Dutchwomen by a final score of 5-1 at the Milford Ice Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.

The lone Pioneer goal came late in the third, as Michelle Panella sent home a wrap-around goal after taking a feed from Shannon Murphy and Nicole Farrelly.

After holding Union to a goal in each of the first two periods, SHU goalie Stephanie Boulay struggled in the third, letting in a trifecta of goals in the final frame, including two just 42 seconds apart leading to coach Tom O'Malley to pull her in favor of freshman Sarah Perry. Boulay stopped 37 shots in two and a half periods and Perry finished the final eight minutes stopping four shots.

The Pioneers and Dutchwomen square off again tomorrow afternoon at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Face off is at 3:30.
