Final Stats

Manchester, NH - Kathleen Twomey scored two goals as Saint Anselm shutout Sacred Heart, 4-0, in women's ice hockey action Tuesday night. The loss snapped the Pioneers three game unbeaten streak.

Twomey had the opening goal for the Hawks at 4:42 of the first period. Arden Lyons set up that goal and then scored the next goal unassisted at 11:10, to give her team the 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.

The Pioneers had their most chances on goal in the second period with seven shots, but the Hawks finished the only goal. Twomey converted a power-play marker at the 12:43 mark for her second goal of the game. Junior co-captain Rachel Cooke added a late insurance goal for the Hawks with 1:20 remaining in the third period.

Junior goalie Andrea Berlin earned her fifth shutout of the season with 12 saves for Saint Anselm. As a team, the Hawks have now gone ten-straight periods without allowing a goal. Stephanie Boulay (Anchorage, AK) was in goal for the Pioneers and made 28 stops.

The Pioneers return home to face Wesleyan Tuesday, January 30th, at 7:00 pm at the Wonderland of Ice.
