Clinton, NY - Senior Stephanie Boulay (Anchorage, AK) stopped all 34 shots she faced to help lead Sacred Heart University to a 3-0 non-conference win against host Hamilton College at Sage Rink Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Gina Arnone (Bridgewater, NJ) scored just 56 seconds into the first period to give Sacred Heart a 1-0 lead. Arnone leads the Pioneers with 15 goals and 24 points. Freshman Jenn Bragger (East Greenwich, RI) made the score 2-0 with her first collegiate goal at the 4:35 mark of the first.
Sacred Heart maintained the two-goal lead thanks to some brilliant goaltending by Boulay. She made 13 saves in the third period, including several from point-blank range. Junior Sarah Hickman (Amherst, MA) added the insurance goal with 3:19 left in the third. Hickman caused a turnover near Hamilton's blue line and beat Manning on a breakaway.
The Pioneers are back in action Tuesday night when they visit Saint Anselm. Face-off is set for 7:00 pm.
