Final Stats

Clinton, NY - Senior Michelle Panella (Marlboro, NJ) scored two goals and Stephanie Boulay (Anchorage, AK) made 35 saves to help visiting Sacred Heart University to a 2-1 non-conference win against Hamilton College at Sage Rink Saturday night.

Panella scored the game-winner with 2:47 left in the third period. Sophomore Gina Arnone (Bridgewater, NJ) had a breakaway opportunity stopped at point-blank range by goalie Meg Shine, who finished with 16 saves. Junior Katelin McLaughlin (Hingham, MA) swiped at the rebound, but that was saved again by Shine. The puck was still loose in the crease when Panella poked it over the goal line.

Panella, who has nine goals this season, gave Sacred Heart a 1-0 lead with 58.2 seconds left in the first period. Arnone was credited with her ninth assist. The Continentals tied the score at the 5:20 mark of the third period, when Lauren Tomford notched her seventh goal this season. Carly Barker and Katie Mulligan had the assists.

The teams meet again at Sage Rink on Sunday, at 2 p.m.
