Nicole Farrelly will rejoin the Pioneers for her third season as an assistant coach for the women's ice hockey team. She joins the Sacred Heart coaching staff after a four year playing career as a defenseman for the Pioneers, including serving as an assistant captain during her senior year. She will be responsible for working with the current crop of Pioneer blue-liners as well as other administrative aspects of the Pioneer women's ice hockey program.
During the off-season Farrelly works at several different hockey schools. For the last two years she has been working as a head instructor at iPlayHarder Hockey Schools under the direction of former Colgate standout and Hartford Wolfpack All-Star Mike Harder. Farrelly has also worked as head instructors at hockey schools with former Whalers Kevin Dineen and Bob Crawford.
Farrelly started her hockey career at the age of ten in Windsor. She played elite hockey for the standout CT. Polar Bear program as well as the CT Clippers. Farrelly was named captain for both teams both her junior and senior years. In April of 2005 Farrelly joined several of her teammates for the USA Olympic Tryouts.
Farrelly graduated from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor's degree in Communications and Technology.
