Women's Ice Hockey Falls To Saint Anselm

Shelton, Conn.- Sacred Heart women's ice hockey were blancked by Saint Anselm 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Goaltender Sarah Erban made 26 saves as Saint Anselm outshot SHU 30-14

Saint Anselm (2-0) opened the scoring at the 10:22 mark in the first period on a goal by Haley Marshall, assisted by Mary Lambert. In a physical game Saint Anselm took a 2-0 lead in the second period at 12:30 on a goal by Katy Meehan. Saint Anselm were able to extend there lead further at the 13:57 on a power assisted by Meehan and Jackie Guy.
 
The third period would again see a goal on a power play from Saint Anselm. Kathleen LeFebre and Kaley Campbell combined to assist Meghan Klaus to take the score to 4-0 at 18:44 in a physical game that totaled five penalty infractions for both teams and saw Saint Anselm go two for five on the power play.
 

The Pioneers are back in action Friday October 27 at Johnson and Wales, RI at 5:55 pm.
