Robbins Hat Trick Not Enough, SHU Falls to Saint Anselm in Overtime

MANCHESTER, NH – Sacred Heart got three goals from junior Melissa Robbins (Nashua, NH) but it was not enough as the Pioneers fell 4-3 in overtime to the Saint Anselm Hawks Saturday afternoon. SHU falls to 2-1 on the young season.

Junior Casey Stathopoulos (Waltham, MA) assisted on Robbins' first goal at 19:15 of the first to tie the game at one.

Hanna Skelley (Wolfeboro, NH) and Sara Hanna (Lino Lakes, MN) got the assists on Robbins' second goal to once again tie the game at two at 12:14 of the second period.

Robbins scored her final goal of the game unassisted to tie the game at three at 7:29 of third.

Alexandra Starzyk  scored the game-winner just 23 seconds into overtime to lift the Hawks to the victory.

Senior goaltender Alexius Schutt (Elk River, MN) recorded 59 saves in the loss.

Sacred Heart is back in action Tuesday night when they play host to Plymouth State at the Wonderland at 5:00 pm.
