Women's Golf Announces Fall Tournament Dates

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (August 18, 2008) - Sacred Heart head women's golf coach Matt McGreevy announced the 2008 Fall Schedule that has the Pioneers slated to take part in seven tournaments. Sacred Heart is coming off the best season in program history after a second place finish at last year's Northeast Conference Championship as they get ready to kick-off the 2008-09 campaign on the weekend of September 12th through 14th at Dartmouth.

For the sixth-straight season the Pioneer will open the year with a stop at the Dartmouth Invitational. This year's tournament will once again be held at the Hanover Country Club on September 13th and 14th. The practice round is slated for Saturday, September 12th.

The Pioneers will head to a pair of Ivy League school to close out the month of September, playing in the Princeton and Yale Invitational. The Princeton Invitational is slated for September 19th through 21st and will take place at the Springdale Golf Club. The Yale Invitational will be on the last weekend of the month, September 26th through 28th and will be held at University's golf course.

The ECAC Tournament is schedule for October 3rd through 5th and will be held at the Kiskiack Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia. SHU will head back to the Rutgers Invitational on the weekend of October 9th, 10th and 11th. The tournament field will play the RU Golf Course in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Pioneers will return to New Jersey the following weekend to play in the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational to be held at the Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough.

For the fourth-straight fall the Pioneer's will head into the winter break by hosting the Sacred Heart University Fall Classic. This year's event is scheduled for October 25th through 27th and will once again be held at the Great River Club.
