FALMOUTH, MA (October 24, 2005) - The Sacred Heart women's golf team competed at the ECAC Division I Women's Championship over the weekend. The Pioneers finished ninth in the 10 team field at the Ballymead Country Club in Falmouth, Massachusetts.

The Pioneers finished with a team score of 762 (386-376) at the two day event. Harvard won the title with a team score of 650 on the par-72 course. The Crimson also feature the top-two finishers in Ali Bode (79-81-161) and Jessica Hazlett (82-80-162).

SHU's top finisher was freshman Joanne Martorana (Randolph, NJ) who shot an 89 and 93 for a two-day total of 182, good for 22nd overall. Sophomore Lauren Foster (Newington, CT) was 32 with a score of 187 (95-92) and junior Kathleen Cummings (Waltham, MA) was 36th with a total of 195 (102-93).

The Pioneers wraps up the fall season this weekend hosting the first ever Sacred Heart Invitational at Great River Golf Club in Milford.
