FDU Invitational Final Results

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. (October 21, 2008) - Sacred Heart freshman Carly Bergin (Binghamton, NY) turned in the best performance of her young career finishing second at the Fairleigh Dickinson Knight Invitational. Bergin finished two-strokes off the lead as the Pioneers finished third as a team at the event held at the Royce Brook Golf Club.

Bergin, who had the lead after round one, shot a 78 on Tuesday afternoon to finish the tournament with a 155. Bergin's score left her two strokes back of Long Island's Natalie Desjardins who shot a 75 on Tuesday to take the individual title.

Senior Jennifer Tierney (Danbury, CT) took home a top-10 finish with a two round score of 159 (80-79). Tierney shot a 79 during the final round on the par 72, 5,935 yard course.

Senior Joanne Martorana (Randolph, NJ) finished 19th with a 168 (81-87). The Pioneers as a team finished with a two-round score of 655 to take third overall in the eight team field.

Sacred Heart will close out the fall season hosting the SHU Fall Classic at the Great River Golf Club this weekend.
