PISCATAWAY, NJ - Freshman Gabriella Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) fired a three-over 75 at the Rutgers Invitational on Friday to help the Sacred Heart women's golf team to a tie for eighth place in the 18-team field after the first round concluded.

The Pioneers are tied with fellow NEC member Fairleigh Dickinson in eighth with a 328 total, two shots behing Long Island University in seventh. St. John's leads the event with a 308 total, followed by Boston College at 312 and Rutgers at 316.

Riber's sister, Michelle, finished with a 77 for the Pioneers to sit in 11th in the medalist competition. Carly Bergin and Taylor Zweifel were the next lowest Pioneer finishers with a pair of 88's.

The tournament concludes Saturday afternoon.
