Sept. 28, 2004

Princeton, NJ (September 27) - The weather and the scene were beautiful, and for the first time in school history, the Pioneers traveled to Princeton, NJ to partake in the Princeton University Women's Golf Invitational, held at the Springdale Country Club. The Pioneers hit a speed bump on day two of the event, losing six strokes from their firs day score of 368. The 742 final score was good for 13th out of 15 teams.

The field, which had some of the premier women's golf programs in the Northeast was a good test for the young Pioneers, who were led by freshmen Lauren Foster who shot 89/91 and Ali Heyes, who shot 84/99.

"Obviously, the lack of consistency getting two numbers in the mid-80's is what hindering us at this time." Director of Pioneer Golf Operations / Women's Head Coach Jamie P. Romeo stated. "It is important for us to remember that it is a marathon and not a sprint, [defending conference champions] St. Francis shot a 673 for the event and they set the bar in the NEC, so we need to close the gap.
