2008 Dartmouth Invitational Results

HANOVER, N.H. (September 15, 2008) - The Sacred Heart women's golf team got the 2008-09 season underway this weekend but placing seventh in a 17 team field at the Dartmouth Invitational. Leading the way was seniors Joanne Martorana (Randolph, NJ) and Jennifer Tierney (Danbury, CT) who registered top-20 finishes.

Martorana took four strokes off her Saturday score with a 76 on Sunday to finish the tournament with a 156 (80-76) to finish tied for 11th overall at the event. The Pioneers, who shot a 326 on Saturday, jumped up to seventh thanks to a 319 on Sunday's 18-holes at the Hanover Country Club.

Tierney also cut strokes on Sunday, shooting a 78 to finish at 159 (81-78), good for an 18th place finish. Freshmen Carly Bergin and Michelle Riber round out the SHU top-four with a 162 and 168 respectively.

The Pioneers will be at the Princeton Invitational this weekend.
