SUFFERN, NY - Sophomore Michelle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) fired a second-round 78 to help the Sacred Heart women's golf team jump five spots and finish in 8th place in the 14-team Roar-ee Invitational hosted by Columbia University Saturday.
The Pioneers finished with a 644 team total, finishing just ahead of Brown and Lehigh in 9th. Harvard won the two-day tournament at the par-72 Spook Rock Country Club with a 603 total. Penn was second at 213, followed by Yale (619), Siena (630) and Columbia (631).
Riber finished at +11 to lead the Pioneers, followed by Carly Bergin with a +12 156 in 21st place. Michelle's sister, Gabriella, was the next lowest finisher for SHU in 44th place with a 162.
Claire McGovern made the biggest move for the Pioneers today, improving on a first-round 94 to shoot a +5 77 today.
The Pioneers are in action at the Northeast Conference Championships next weekend in Orlando, FL.
