ANNAPOLIS, Md.— The Sacred Heart women's golf team finished in a four-way tie for sixth place at the Navy Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Course.
Junior Chelsea Sedlar led the Pioneers, finishing tied for 17th over the three-round event. Sedlar carded a 76 in a final round to finish 16-over par. Sophomore Ana Contreras made her first career start for SHU. Contreras finished tied for 21st with a score of 18-over par. Senior Alejandra Perez carded a 79 in the final round to finish 23rd at 20-over. Senior Abigail Hood bounced back in the final round with a 78 to finish in 41st at 27-over. Freshman Maya Isom competed as an individual in her first career tournament, she shot an 80 in the final round to tie for 44th at 30-over par. Junior Chrissie Wojciechowski carded an 86 in rounds two and three to finish 45-over par to finish in 59th.
Sacred Heart shot its best round of the weekend on Sunday with a score of 312. SHU finished with a total score of 945, tying with Wagner, Monmouth and Longwood for sixth. Richmond won the team title with a score 22-over par. Tournament host Navy finished as runner up followed by Lehigh.
The Pioneers are back on the course next weekend at the Dartmouth Invitational beginning Saturday, September 23.
