MILFORD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart women's golf team wrapped up the regular season on Monday afternoon with a second-place finish at the 2017 SHU Spring Invitational at Great River Golf Club.
The Pioneers finished with a team score of 321 in the single round event. NEC foe, Wagner took home the team title with a score of 316. Siena College finished out the top three with a score of 334.
Senior Ellen Nighbor led the Pioneers scoring group with as she tied for third place with a score of +4. Nighbor led the leaderboard with 12 pars on the afternoon. Junior Abigail Hood finished tied for sixth with as she carded an 80 in the lone round. Senior Stephanie Lowe placed 10th as she finished one stroke back of Hood at +9. Junior Estee Deschamps tied for 14th as she scored an 84. Fellow junior Alejandra Perez rounded out the scoring group as she finished tied for 34th with a score of 21-over par.
Junior Lauren Pelster paced the individuals in the Invitational as she finished fifth on the leaderboard with a score of +7. She scored two birdies on the afternoon. Senior Meagan Bonner also finished in the top 10 as an individual with a score of +8, good for a tie at sixth overall. Sophomore Chrissie Wojciechowski carded an 89 to finish tied for 27th as an Individual. Junior Danielle Lapierre finished tied for 37th at 23-over par.
The Pioneers will travel down to LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Northeast Conference Championships beginning Friday, April 21.
