Women’s Golf Finishes First Round Of Hoya Women’s Invitational In 15th Place

BEALLSVILLE, Md. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team finished the opening round of the Hoya Women's Invitational at The Members Club at Four Streams tied for 15th place on Monday. Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass.) was the Pioneers' low scorer on Monday with a 12-over par 84, putting herself tied for 41st in the individual competition.

Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) tied for 56th with a first-round 87 on the par-72 course. Ellen Nighbor (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) carded a 90 on Monday, ending up tied for 64th. Stephanie Lowe (Cedar Park, Texas) rounded out the Sacred Heart scoring group with an opening round 96. The Pioneers finished Monday's opening round with a team score of 357, +69 over par. Sacred Heart is six strokes behind Lehigh heading into Tuesday's final round. Penn leads the team competition with a team score of +21, four shots ahead of Michigan.

The tournament concludes with the final round on Tuesday.
