Women’s Golf Finishes In 11th Place At St. John’s Women’s Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team wrapped up the St. John's Women's Invitational at the Eisenhower Park White Course on Tuesday, finishing in 11th place. Junior Kelsey Hayward (Seekonk, Mass.) was the Pioneers' top finisher, placing tied for 16th.

Hayward followed up her first round 78 by carding an 84 on the par-72 course Tuesday. Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) and Ellen Nighbor (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) were Sacred Heart's low scorers in the final round, with each posting 83s. Clinton cut three strokes from her first round with Nighbor cutting six strokes. Stephanie Lowe (Cedar Park, Texas) rounded out the Sacred Heart scoring group with an 86 on Tuesday after wrapping up her first round earlier in the day with an 89.

Sacred Heart finished one shot behind 10th-place Hofstra. St. John's won the tournament, followed by Siena, LIU Brooklyn, and Quinnipiac.

The Pioneers are back in action on Monday, Oct. 14 for the first round on the Rutgers Women's Invitational.
