WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Sacred Heart women's golf team finished a rain-shortened C&F Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill-River Course on Tuesday in 23rd place on Tuesday. Rains on Monday shortened the tournament to two rounds.
The Pioneers were nine shots behind Hartford for 22nd place out of 28 teams. Northeast Conference rival St. Francis U placed 17th. Seniors Gabriella Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) and Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) were Sacred Heart's top-two finishers. Riber posted a second-round 84 on the par-71 course for a two-day total of 165. Carnahan carded an 86 on Tuesday after having an 84 on Sunday. Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) improved by five shots from her round on Sunday, posting an 85.
Sacred Heart is back in action on April 14 for the first round of the Brown Bear Invitational at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, R.I.
