Women's Golf Dominates Bobcat Invitational

WOODBRIDGE, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University women's golf team won the three-team Quinnipiac Bobcat Invitational with a team score of 349, 34 streaks ahead of the closest conteder.

The Pioneers swept the field by claiming each of the top five spots.  Junior Carly Bergin (Binghamton. N.Y.) won the event with an 85.  In second was classmate Michelle Riber (Stockholm, Sweden) with an 87, followed immediately by fellow junior Brianna Carnahan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) who finished with an 88.

Sophomore Claire McGovern (Escondido, Calif.) and freshman Jennifer Clinton (Sayville, N.Y.) tied for fourth after each booking an 89.

St. Francis (NY) finished second in the team scoring with a 383, while the host Bobcats brought up the rear with a 458.

Sacred Heart gets back on the links on April 4 and 5 at the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown, at The Members Club at Four Streams.
