Fairfield, CT - Led by three time honorees Leah Stoehr (Hummelstown, PA) and Jenn Howley (North Salem, NY), the Sacred Heart field hockey team placed fifteen student-athletes on the Zag/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division I All-Academic team. The fifteen selections is the fifth most of any team in the country and second most of any Northeast Conference squad.

In addition to the two seniors, juniors Carisa Eye (Smithtown, NY), Becky Dyson (Camp Hill, PA), Kristen McIntire (Avon, CT), Carsten Snow (Amherst, MA), Amy Hendricks (Milford, PA) and Melissa Mazin (Putnam Valley, NY) all made the team. Sophomores Whitney Russo (Waterville, ME), Ashley Lopes (Teaticket, MA) and Kelsey Zeyher (Poughkeepsie, NY) were part of the squad, as were freshmen Hannah Robinson (Watertown, NY), Kim Stow (Norwalk, CT), Jessica Garcia (Freehold, NJ) and Stephanie Fazio (Norwalk, CT).
 

 

The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2007-08 academic year. Sacred Heart also earned an Academic Team Award, given to programs who's team GPA's are at least 3.0.
