Final Stats

LOCK HAVEN, PA (October 23, 2009) – The Sacred Heart University field hockey team dropped a Northeast Conference match 3-1 at Lock Haven Friday afternoon.  The loss puts the Pioneers at 2-14 overall and 1-4 in the NEC, while the Lady Eagles move to 15-3 and a perfect 6-0 in conference.

 

Lock Haven senior Mary Keister provided LHU with the game winner on a penalty stroke in the 62nd minute.  Classmate Alanna Lewis and junior Casey Hughes also tallied a goal for the Lady Eagles in the win.

 

Sacred Heart knotted the game at one when junior defender Jessica Garcia (Freehold, NJ/Colts Neck) converted on a penalty stroke.

 

Despite taking the loss, junior goalkeeper Kim Stow (Norwalk, CT/Norwalk) was spectacular in net for the Pioneers, making nine saves.  Junior Erin Terreson made two saves to record the victory for Lock Haven.
