Lawrenceville, NJ - Senior Diana Celebre had two goals and an assist with sophomore Allison Vogel adding a goal and an assist as the Rider University field hockey team defeated Sacred Heart 3-1 on Friday in a Northeast Conference game.

Senior Carisa Eye (Nesconset, NY) put the Pioneers up 10 minutes into the game when picked up a turnover in front of the Rider cage and converted it into her 13th goal of the season.

The Broncs rebounded with Celebre scoring her fourth goal of the season 20 minutes into the game off a Vogel shot.

Vogel scored her second goal of the year, off a Celebre shot, three minutes into the second half to give Rider a 2-1 lead.

Celebre notched her fifth goal of the season and 11th of her career, off a pass from freshman Virginia Egusquiza with 21 minutes remaining for the final score.

Junior goalie Lyndsie Johnson made three saves for her seventh win of the season as the Broncs out-shot Sacred Heart 18-5. Rider held a 12-3 advantage in penalty corners including 9-1 in the second half.

Sacred Heart is back in action on Sunday when it hosts Monmouth at 12:00 pm at Campus Field.
