Final Stats

Hempstead, NY - Senior forwards Brit Blankmeyer and Charlia Warner each scored a goal off penalty corners to help the Pride post a 2-0 victory over Sacred Heart in a non-conference game Friday afternoon at Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium.

Blankmeyer opened the scoring 15:51 into the contest, capitalizing on Nancy Wagenbrenner's feed for her fourth goal of the season. Warner added the insurance marker early in the second half. Kristin Thompson initiated the penalty corner, sending a pass that Reyna Farnum set up for Warner's shot. The goal gave Warner a team-high seven on the year.

Giammarco started and made two saves to earn the victory, playing the first 52:52 before giving way for Heyde. Giammarco improved to 3-1 this year, making two saves. Heyde, who won the CAA's Co-Rookie of the Week Award after winning her first two NCAA starts over the weekend, turned aside the only shot she faced in 17:08 to preserve the shutout.

Senior Whitney Mills made nine saves in goal for the Pioneers.

Sacred Heart is back in action Sunday when they visit Yale. Game time is set for 2:00 pm.
