Final Stats

NEW HAVEN. CT - Five different players scored for the Northwestern field hockey team on Sunday afternoon to help the Wildcats to a 5-0 win over Sacred Heart, in a game played at Yale University. The loss dropped the Pioneers to 0-4 to start the season, while Northwestern improves to 3-1.

Northwestern outshot the Pioneers 13-3 in the first half but were only able to get one past SHU goalie Kim Stow (Norwalk, CT). Chelsea Armstrong scored the lone goal at the 25:37 mark, assisted by Elizabeth Dobbs.

The pair changed places for the second Wildcat goal when Dobbs used a helper from Armstrong just over seven minutes into the second half. Megan Mooney scored the third Wildcat goal seven minutes later, and they got a pair of unassisted tallies in the final ten minutes to close out the scoring.

The Pioneers will be off until they play at Fairfield University on Friday afternoon.
