Julie Messenger enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Pioneers after four highly successful years as a player for Coach Blais. During her four-year playing career, Messenger appeared in more games than anyone in Pioneer history with 87 games played. She also ranks amongst the all-time leaders in goals, assists, and points. Her 42 career goals and 101 career points are second to only Deirdre Hynes on the all-time list, while her 17 assists tie her with Hynes for the school mark. Messenger also holds the Pioneer record for goals scored in a game with four as well as tying school marks for assists in a game (3) and points in a game (8). She is one of only two Pioneers to score at least 11 goals in three seasons. A three-time first team All-Northeast Conference selection and a 2003 STX/NFHCA Division I Mideast All-Region Team selection, Messenger will continue to assist in all facets of the Pioneer field hockey program.
