SHU Field Hockey Honored by NFHCA for Work in the Classroom

FAIRFIELD, CONN. (March 19, 2014)—Eleven Pioneers were named to the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Wednesday morning. In addition to individual players be acknowledged, the entire Sacred Heart field hockey team was honored for its work in the classroom, compiling a grade point average about 3.0.

Liz Bergman (Blandon, Pa.) and Lauren Harrison (Oxford, Md.) earned the honor of being named Scholars of Disctinction excelling with GPAs over 3.90. 

Stephanie Frye (Walpole, Mass.) is a standout landing her name on the list for the fourth straight time. Also recognized for their work off the field was Mary Altepeter (Chesterfield, Mo.), Bergman, Sarah Bergman (Blandon, Pa.), Rachel Claroni (Hershey, Pa.), Jackie Delannoy (New Egypt, N.J.), Nichole Dobachesky (Medway, Mass.), Nicole Granito (Matawan, N.J.),Harrison, Christine Mace (Norwalk, Conn.) and Caitlyn Slusser (Milford, N.J.).
