FAIRFIELD, CT - Sacred Heart University fencing completed their dual meet seasons last week with losses to Columbia and New York University. The Men's team finished the year with a 5-9 record while the women posted a 2-10 mark.

The men's team qualified ten fencers for the NCAA Regionals that will be held at Harvard on March 5th. Leading the men this year was Luc Bernacki with a record of 25-14. Charlie Thompson also had an outstanding season posting a 21-16 mark. Other fencers qualifying for the NCAA regionals include Kris Singhaviroj, Alex Bente, Mat Laudicina, Manuel Calderon, freshman David Rabinowitz, Adam Constantine, Earl Gendron and Bob Howard.

Liz Mordecai led the 5 women's team qualifiers with a 23-13 record. Other NCAA woman qualifiers were Christie Zeleznik, Elise Valerio, Nicole Juba and freshman Mary Dannegger.
