NEWARK, NJ - Junior Liz Mordecai went a perfect 3-0 in saber to help the Sacred Heart women's fencing earn its first competition of the season, 18-9 over the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Team captain and senior Christie Zeleznik helped out by finishing 2-1 in her saber matches.

Sophomore Deidre DeSilva finished 1-1 in foil.

The Pioneers will take on Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY this Sunday.
