Four Pioneer Riders off to Zone 3 Championships This Weekend

FAIRFIELD, CT - Members of the Sacred Heart University women's equestrian team will travel to West Grove, PA this weekend to compete in the annual 2003 Zone 3 Championship Horse Show.

SHU Competitors will include: Kristine Brackenridge, the 2003 Zone 3, Region 1 Open Flat Champion.

Emily Grayson, the 2003 Zone 3, Region 1 Open Flat Reserve Champion.

Team co-captain Kate Janczak, the 2003 Zone 3, Region 1 Open Fences Reserve Champion and 2003 Zone 3, Region 1 Reserve High Point Rider.

Christina Pratt, the 2003 Zone 3, Region 1 Alumni Fences Reserve Champion.

For all the competitors, save Brackenridge, this will be their first time competing at Zones. Brackenridge last competed at the Zone 3 Show in April of 2001 where she finished 3rd in Novice Flat.

The Sacred Heart participants earned their invitations by placing first or second at the Zone 3, Region 1 Championship Horse Show. A Champion (1st place) or Reserve Champion (2nd place) title at the Zone show will qualify a rider for the IHSA National Horse Show.
