FAIRFIELD, CT - The Sacred Heart University equestrian team will open their Spring 2006 competition calendar on Sunday February 26th. Traveling to Westbrook, CT, the Pioneers will compete at the annual Yale Intercollegiate Horse Show.

Teammates Lauren Pierce (Southington, CT) and team co-captain Ashley Coppola (Holmdel, NJ) will be looking to secure their trips into the 2006 post-season. For Pierce, it would be a trip in Open Fences and for Coppola, Intermediate Fences.

The show will be held at the Westbrook Hunt Club. Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the team. Following this weekend's competition, the Equestrian Team will again break until March 26th, 2006, when they will close out the regular season at the CW Post/Dowling College Intercollegiate Horse Show.
