STONY BROOK, NY - In addition to the regular IHSA competition at Stony Brook, four of the seven Sacred Heart riders held their own competition. Casey Marino, Julie Law, Adrianna Dattoli and Sarah Aquilla all drew the same horse, Gator. It was a close match; however Julie pulled ahead and landed herself the "Gator Award". This was rewarded to the rider who had the best ride on the difficult draw.

In the regular show, the SHU riders did very well. Marino placed seventh out of 14 in Intermediate Over Fences despite her unlucky draw. Law was awarded two second places in her Novice Over Fences and Intermediate Flat classes. Trimboli won first place in her Novice Over Fences.

Trimboli then went on to place 3rd, along with Adrianna Dattoli, in their Novice Flat classes. Nicole D'Agostino stuck out a rough ride and got herself reserve in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter.

The highlight of the day was Kim Schult making her show debut and receiving second place in the Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter class! Sarah Aquilla also had a great day, receiving her very first 1st place ribbon in Walk/Trot.

The team will be returning back to action on November 2nd when the Western Team will take on USMA.
