MEDFORD, NY - Sacred Heart equestrian co-captain Casey Marino led the Pioneers to its first Zone qualifier when she took second place in the Intermediate Over Fences Class this weekend at the IHSA Regionals hosted by Hofstra University. The top three finishers in each class advance to the Zone Championships to be held Sunday, May 29 at Centenary College in Hackenstown, NJ.

Following that strong performance, she and Julie Law both competed in the Intermediate Flat class where they finished second and third respectively.

Late in the day Sarah Aquilla took second place in the Beginner Walk Trot class. "She took a clear command of the class and showed her style and confidence," said head coach Sloane Milstein.

Sacred Heart Alumni Kristen Breckinridge competed in the Alumni Flat class and took first place and also secured a spot at Zones.
