Equestrian Team Competes in Best of the West at Fresno State

FRESNO, CA - Six Sacred Heart equestrian team members traveled to Fresno, California to compete against three other schools in both English and Western at the Best of the West Meet host by Fresno State. Texas Christian University and the University of Tennessee-Martin were also in attendance.

One of the highlights of the competition was sophomore Abbie Britton who received MVP on the flat against TCU during the first day of riding. The following day, junior Julie Law received MVP over fences against UT-Martin.

Britton also scored a point on the flat during on the first day, and a point over fences and two on the flat during day two.

Law received one point on the flat during day one and a point over fences during the second day. She also tied during one of her head-to-head matchups, which prevented either competitor from scoring a point.

Sophomore Alyssa Woronik received a point in reining and lost by only half a point in horsemanship on day two.

Senior Casey Marino received two points in horsemanship during day two of the competition while freshman Grace Smith earned the team two points in reining to close out the day.

Freshman Devan Beaulieu put in some solid trips, and was edged out just slightly by her competitors.
