With the start of the 2005 - 2006 season, Alysia Cantelmo enters her sixth season as co-head coach of the Equestrian Team. Cantelmo has a combined ten years of IHSA experience, first as a competitor and now as coach. A four-year member of the Sacred Heart team, she served as co-captain and team manager during her junior and senior years.

As a member of the coaching staff, Cantelmo has seen individual members of the Sacred Heart team qualify for competitions at the Regional, Zone and National levels. During her tenure, riders have consistently earned top Regional honors including the 2005 Zone 3 High Point Rider and 2001 - 2003 Zone 3, Region 1 Reserve High Point Rider titles. On a team level, she has watched the Pioneers ride to consecutive third-place hunt seat and eighth-place overall finishes at the 2004 & 2005 Varsity Equestrian National Championships.

A native of Marshfield Hills, MA, Cantelmo currently resides in Ridgefield, CT. Alysia earned her bachelor's degree in biology and was a Dean's List student named to the Phi Sigma Iota honor society upon graduation. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she works as a Marketing Manager in Stamford, CT.
